NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team came back from an early deficit to defeat the Southern Miss Golden Eagles 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Privateer Tennis Center.
Southern Miss earned the doubles point from the first two courts. Alexander Gima and Saheb Sodhi won 6-3 at flight one. Shamirul Shahril and Pasawee Reanuswong also scored a 6-4 victory at flight two. The Privateers got a win from

In singles though, the Privateers were solid throughout. The Golden Eagles got the first point on the board with a straight set win at flight two but they got no more as the Privateers rattled off five straight points.
Four of those matches finished in straight sets and the Privateers were especially great in tiebreaks.
Max Heinzel, Al-Amin and Dubois all won tiebreakers in their matches. Heinzel won 8-6 to secure his victory at flight one.
Al-Amin controlled his second set tiebreak 7-2. Dubois held of Alan Sanson 7-5 in a tiebreak during his first set.
David Tesic, making his season debut, closed the scoring for the Privateers. After losing the first set, he came back with a late service break to take the second. That took the match to a super tiebreak and Tesic won the race to 10 by a four-point margin.
Armbruster also scored a singles win as he conceded only five games throughout the match.
