Tyson Jackson Reaches Season High 19 Points in Lamar Loss

BEAUMONT, Texas - Tyson Jackson reached a season-high 19 points with seven rebounds to lead New Orleans (7-14, 2-6 SLC) men's basketball in 98-73 loss at Lamar Monday night. 

While its Jackson's third game in a row with double-figures, this marks the second consecutive game with four Privateers in double-figures. Jordan Johnson scored 16 points with nine coming from a nearly perfect showing at the foul line (9-10). Turk Vincent accounted for 11 points and six rebounds, while Jah Short chipped in 10 points with a team best four assists and three steals. Carlos Hart, Khaleb Wilson-Rouse, and D'Ante Bell, in his return to play, all scored as well.

The Privateers led the Cardinals by as much as four points midway through the first half before the home team went on a 28-17 run to close out the half with a ten-point lead. 

The Cardinals shot 69.2% in the second half to pull away from the Privateers, who shot 37.5% overall. 

New Orleans won the battle from the foul line with 28 made free-throws. They also earned  the one-point edge in points scored off turnovers with 14-13.

Lamar was led by B.B. Knight who had 23 points.

UP NEXT: New Orleans returns to the Lakefront this Saturday for the double-header against UIW. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
