NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers blitzed the Southeastern Lady Lions and that set the stage for a 5-2 victory in their regular season finale on Friday afternoon at the Privateer Tennis Center. With the win, New Orleans finishes the conference slate with a record of 5-2.
Laurie Barendse and
Ksenia Reznitskaya breezed through their doubles match without dropping a game at flight two. They end the regular season with a 10-1 overall record and a 6-1 mark in conference play.
Audelia Morin Kougoucheff and
Kateryna Kalistratova wrapped up the first point of the day for the Privateers. The tandem won 6-1 at flight three and in the process, moved their conference record to 3-2.
In singles, Reznitskaya was the first off court as she was clinical in her match. Reznitskaya lost only one game as she earned her third conference win of the season to move the match score to 2-0.
Anastassia Kouchnareva was not far behind as she got ahead early in both sets of a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kate Oborina.
Barendse finished the regular season 10-2 after another strong singles match. Barendse went back and forth with her opponent, Leana Gomez in the first set. Barendse broke through late to take the first set. After each player traded service breaks to start the second, Barendse won five of the next six games to take her match 7-5, 6-2.
Tristanne Dechoux earned a point as well. Dechoux endured a three-set battle against Bente Bierma to earn her eighth singles victory of the season.
Taisia Bolsova and Claudia Di Leonardo earned points for Southeastern. Bolsova won 6-3, 6-1 at flight six. Di Leonardo won the race to 10 points in a super tiebreak for a flight four win.

The Privateers will head to the Southland Tournament in San Antonio with their opponent and seed yet to be determined.
