MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The New Orleans Privateers were in a tough battle on the day and wound up on the short end of a 4-0 decision against the Memphis Tigers at the Leftwich Tennis Center on Sunday evening.
The Tigers controlled the action in doubles as they won at flights one and two while only dropping three games. The #59 ranked tandem in the nation in Conor Gannon and Sam Reeve won 6-2 at flight one. Quickly following were Harry Rock and Moritz Kudernatsch who won 6-1 to secure the first point.
The last doubles match at flight three was at 4-3 to Memphis on the score line when the point was decided.
In singles, the Tigers snagged wins at flights one, three and four to win the match. Pablo Alemany won 6-1, 6-2 at flight one. Kudernatsch won a second match on the day when he scored a 6-4, 6-1 decision at flight three. Reeve also won in straight sets with a 6-2, 6-1 decision at flight four.
Marc Mail took a set off Michael Kouame as he won the first set in a tiebreak 7-6 (5).
Sep de Visser was in a battle at flight five. After losing the first set by a single break, de Visser was ahead 4-3 in the second.
Memphis won earlier in the day against Oklahoma State and is now 5-7. The Privateers are now 3-2 on the season.
