NEW ORLEANS –
Nora Francois notched the first triple-double by a New Orleans Privateers women's basketball player since 2003 as the Privateers dominated East Texas A&M 78-52 on Thursday night at the Lakefront Arena.
The final line for Francois was 19 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists. The last assist came with nine seconds left as she dished to
Alexis Calderon who finished a transition layup. The triple-double was the first since Lora Ruddy (Feb. 22, 2003) did it against Denver.
Francois had strong contributions on both ends of the floor as she finished the first half with nine points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks. The Privateers as a team kept the Lions to 29.4 percent from the field in the first half.
New Orleans began the second quarter by scoring the first ten points which stretched their lead to 29-14. From there, the Lions hit three triples in the final 2:52 of the half to close the gap to 33-25 as both teams went into the locker room.
The Privateers came out strong in the second half to separate again on the scoreboard. They outscored the Lions 24-15 while shooting 52.6 percent from the field and got excellent contributions from the bench. The Privateer bench contributed 38 points on the night.
New Orleans had 20 assists to just nine turnovers tying the most in a game this season (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 2). The Privateers led for most of the game as they had the advantage for nearly 37 minutes of the contest.
The Lions had four in double figures, led by Jamy De Kock's 12 points. Hannah Humphrey added 11 points and Alva Hedrich had 10 rebounds.

Tre'Miyah Berry had a season-high 13 points and was 3-of-4 from three-point range.
Alexis Calderon had 13 points and four assists.
Jasmine Jones finished with 11 points and
Brialle Washington added 10 points. As a team, New Orleans out-rebounded East Texas A&M 50-35.
