NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team had to play shorthanded in singles and lost a 4-0 decision to the Tulane Green Wave on Thursday at the Goldring Tennis Center.
The Green Wave took the first point of the day while only dropping three games between matches at flight one and two. Summer Chandler and Campbell Ricci won 6-2 while Micah Pierce and Delanie Tribby took a 6-1 decision.
In singles, Tulane got another point on the board because the Privateers could only field a lineup of five players in singles so flight six was a default victory for the home team.
Chandler won her match 6-1, 6-1 at flight two to give the Green Wave a 3-0 lead. The afternoon finished when Natalia Fantini won 6-1, 6-3 at flight four to give Tulane their 15
th consecutive win against the Privateers.
Ananya Dhankhar was ahead 4-3 in the second set for the Privateers while playing at flight five. Tulane was ahead by a set and a break in the other two matches at flight one and flight three.
