CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The New Orleans Privateers men's and women's tennis teams were both defeated 4-0 by the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Monday at the Thomas Henry Tennis Center.
WOMEN'S RECAP
The Islanders started the day with a pair of 6-1 victories at flight two and three which secured them the doubles point. The Islanders swept the doubles point with a 6-4 win at flight one.
In singles, the Islanders finished with wins at flight one, three and five to secure the victory.
Adriana Jimenez did not drop a game in her first set at flight five before taking a 6-0, 6-2 decision. At flight three, Kseniya Ramanouskaya only dropped one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Leticia Tarocco won 6-2, 6-2 at flight one to clinch the day for the Islanders.
The Islanders were up a set in the remaining three singles matches.
MEN'S RECAP
The Islander men won 6-1 at flight one and two which secured them the doubles point on their way to a 4-0 victory. They swept doubles after Ethan Dasset and Josef Zapetal conjured up a late service break in a 7-5 win at flight three.
Omar Suarez was the deciding point for the Islanders as he won 6-2, 6-0 at flight two. Maxime Salesses was first off court after not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Nicholas Niox won the first set 7-5 and was up 2-0 when
Jacob Rouleau-Mailly had to retire from the match.
Jerall Yasin was up a set and was tied 2-2 in the second when the match was stopped. The Islanders won the first set in the other two matches that wound up unfinished.

Both teams will play at Nicholls on Thursday starting at 11 a.m.
