www.UNOPrivateers.com, is also required. Only nominations received via the public nomination tool will be accepted. Self-nominations are not allowed.
Only candidates who are nominated through the online nomination tool will be considered for AHOF inclusion. Verbal nominations made to committee members or staff members will not be considered for inclusion.

Deadlines
The public nomination tool will be available for a minimum of six weeks to the public for the 2026 nomination cycle. Following the 2026 event, the nomination tool will be available throughout the year leading up to the Advisors Committee slate selection meeting. The deadline for inclusion in the current year’s slate selection meeting will be publicly posted.
Categories of Nominees
Candidates for inclusion in the AHOF must fall into one of the following categories:
- Student-Athlete:
- Graduation from the University of New Orleans is not required but will be considered for selection.
- Athletic success at the University of New Orleans will be the primary consideration for AHOF selection. Further athletic successes as well as post-athletic successes may also be considered.
- Conduct, both as a student-athlete and afterwards, should be a consideration for AHOF selection.
- The student-athlete must have completed their final season of competition ten (10) years prior to their potential induction.
- Coach:
- Coaching accomplishments at the University of New Orleans, as well as other teams/institutions, will be considered.
- Any coach may be considered – former head coaches, assistant coaches, volunteer coaches, etc.
- Conduct, both as a New Orleans Athletics coach and afterwards, should be a consideration for AHOF selection.
- The coach must have completed their final season at UNO five (5) years prior to their potential induction.
- Administrator:
- University of New Orleans employees whose administrative experiences have resulted in outstanding achievements, accomplishments or contributions in ways relating to athletics should be considered.
- Conduct, both as a New Orleans Athletics administrator and afterwards, should be a consideration for AHOF selection.
- An administrator must have completed their final year of service five (5) years prior to their potential induction.
- Friend or Supporter:
- Friends or Supporters will be chosen based on their dedication to the University of New Orleans Athletics department.
- Selections from this category will be exclusively chosen by the Vice President, Athletics & Recreation, in consultation with the President of the University of New Orleans and/or President, University of New Orleans Foundation.
Should an individual occupy multiple categories above, candidacy may be considered based on one category or on multiple categories. Regardless, years of completion following their selected category must be followed. For instance, if a former student-athlete also serves presently as an administrator, the candidate must primarily be evaluated as a former student-athlete, assuming the ten-year minimum has passed since their last season playing. Current status as an administrator would be judged in addition to their primary category of student-athlete.
Teams will not be collectively chosen for induction into the AHOF.
The waiting period for any student-athlete, coach or administrator may be waived should the following conditions be met:
- The candidate is unanimously selected by the AHOF Advisors Committee and recommended for immediate induction.
- The candidate is endorsed for immediate induction by the Vice President, Athletics & Recreation.
- The candidate is endorsed for immediate induction by the University of New Orleans President.
