Lee Bryant joins the Privateers for his first season in the upcoming 2016 after being hired in September, 2015. Bryant will assume the duties as the new pitching coach.
Bryant spent six seasons at Shorter University in Rome, Ga. as the lead assistant. In his first three seasons, the Hawks won 91 games before transitioning to NCAA Division II.
Prior to his tenure at Shorter, Bryant spent the summer of 2009 with the summer league Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League in Virginia. There, he helped guide the Braves to their first pennant since '03.
At the beginning of his coaching career, Bryant spent time at two different junior colleges: Central Florida and Volunteer State from 2006-08. At Volunteer State, he helped bring a regional championship in the '09 season.
Bryant has an associate's degree from Florida Community College where he obtained a 3.5 GPA and was named to the All-Academic team from 2002-04. Bryant also has a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Bluefield College, and a master of arts in leadership from Shorter.
