Ryan Brewer joined the Privateers program in 2018 as a student assistant. His primary responsibilities are working with infielders and hitters.

Brewer came to New Orleans via Delgado after starting his collegiate career at Nicholls. He walked on with the Colonels and was a two-way player (infielder/pitcher). After two surgeries, Brewer pitched again for Delgado, starting five games and giving up one earned run.

Brewer transferred to New Orleans to receive his business administration and graduated in the spring of 2019. He also aspires to get a business masters after completing his bachelor's degree.

During his young coaching career, Brewer was also an assistant on the New Orleans Boosters in 2017 when they won the AAABA National Championship in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Brewer also plans to continue coaching at the collegiate level.

A native of Norco, La. Brewer went to Destrehan High School where he earned several accolades. Among them, Brewer was an All-District selection in 2013-14 and earned All-State honorable mention in 2014. He played third base for three seasons and also pitched for the Wildcats. The 2013 team Brewer was a part of went 29-5 and was ranked second in the state.
