Biography

2007: Was one of the top players in the Sun Belt Conference and was named the league tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after leading Privateers to tournament title...Was also a third-team All-America pick by the ABCA and was named the top sophomore second baseman in the country according to Baseball America...Was a first team All-Sun Belt pick, the only Privateer to be named to all-conference...Only player on team to play in all 64 games this season...One of three captains on team (along with Bryan Cryer and Brandon Bowser) and was the first sophomore to be named a team captain during Tom Walter’s coaching career...Leads team in RBIs, hits, doubles, slugging percentage and walks...Also tied for team lead for home runs ...Has better than a 2:1 walk-strikeout ratio and is only Privateer regular to have a positive walk-to-strikeout ratio...Hit for the cycle in his first four at-bats during Feb. 13...Went 5-for-6 with seven RBIs and five runs scored during 22-11 triumph...Went 8-for-17 with two home runs, five RBIs and seven runs scored...Finished season with 14-game hitting streak entering NCAA play...Had 29 multi-hit games (most on team) and recorded three hits or more in a game 11 times this season.

2006: Had strong freshman season and finished second on team with 51 RBIs and third with a .348 average...Average never dipped below .400 until mid-April and reached a season-best .489 after going 2-for-2 with four runs scored in second conference game of season at Western Kentucky on March 25...Had four RBIs and scored five runs in first conference series...Had season-best four hits in regular season conference finale versus Arkansas State on May 20...Had 25 multi-hit games and had three or more hits 11 times.

HIGH SCHOOL: Member of Louisiana 5A State Championship squad while at Jesuit and was named MVP...Was an All-District and All-City pick thanks to efforts as both pitcher and infielder...Named USA Today Player of the Week after helping Blue Jays to state crown...Also was an All-Area selection after playing for Retief Oil American Legion squad.
