Prior to UNO: Two-year letterman at Miami Dade College, playing under head coach Danny Price… helped the Sharks to a combined 52- 44 record, 30-26 in conference play… made 24 career appearances on the mound for Miami Dade, finishing his career with two victories, 58 strikeouts versus 21 walks and 27 earned runs off 84 hits in 90.2 innings for a 2.69 ERA… pitched in 14 games as a sophomore with one start, ending the season with 34 strikeouts, 11 walks, 25 runs allowed with 16 earned in 48.1 innings for a 2.98 ERA… pitched 42.1 innings over 10 appearances as a freshman, posting a 2.34 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 19 runs allowed, 11 earned.
 
High School: Two-year letterman at American Senior High School, playing under head coach Ricky Gutierrez… helped guide the Patriots to a 60-29, 28-4 league record, with the first FHSAA Class 7A State Championship in the school’s history… one-year letterman at Barbara Goleman.
