Kristin Moore is entering her seventh season as an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans. Moore handles the preparation and organization of special events, fundraising and her primary responsibility on the court is the player development of the point guards.

Jomyra Mathis is the latest Privateer point guard to sign a professional contract. After a standout year in 2021-22, Mathis was named All-Southland and All-Louisiana in 2022. She averaged 12.7 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Guard play was a big factor in the Privateers recording-breaking season in 2019-20, when the group advanced to the Southland Conference Tournament for the fourth straight year.

Moore helped mentor New Orleans native Rehema Franklin, who went on to earn both All-Southland Conference and All-Louisiana selections for her standout senior campaign.

The native of Irving, Texas, joined the Privateers after a two-year stint at the University of Texas as an Athletics Accountant.  Moore was responsible for managing business operations for the Longhorns men’s and women’s basketball program including budget management, contract execution, travel reimbursements and payment and procurement requests.

She began her coaching career as a Player Development Coach at Stay Ready Basketball in Dallas for girls and boys ages 7-18.  She served as an assistant coach under former WNBA coach Candi Harvey for the Texas Elite AAU team and was a Game Night Statistician for the Texas Legends, the D-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks from 2013-2015.

A Big East Conference Academic All-Star, the former St. John’s University point guard helped guide the Red Storm to back-to-back berths in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) in 2008 and 2009

Moore transferred to St. John’s University from Tyler (Texas) Junior College (2005-2007) where she had a standout career and advanced to the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Tournament finishing 28-8 overall.  She was an Academic All-American and earned All-Region and All-National Tournament Team honors.
