Rebecca Appelt joined the Sports Medicine Staff at New Orleans during the summer of 2020 amd will serve as the assistant athletic trainer for women's basketball and women's tennis.

Prior to her arrival on the Lakefront Appelt spent the previous three seasons across the city as the athletic trainer for XULA's women's basketball, volleyball and tennis teams from 2018 to 2020.

No stranger to the Southland Conference Rebecca earned her B.A in Athletic Training from Southeastern where she spent all four years of her time in Hammond as a student-trainer for the Lions athletic programs.

Furthering her academic career Appelt earned her Masters in Education with a focus on Adult Education/Leadership from Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she also worked as a graduate trainer. During her time in Alva, she worked with men's basketball and volleyball programs.

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Rebecca has spent most of her life in Louisiana after moving to Belle Chase at 10 years old. She is ATC certified through the National Athletic Trainer's Association, and a licensed Louisiana Athletic Trainer.
