Makenzi Abelman

Makenzi Abelman was hired to the volleyball coaching staff in August 2021, just two years removed from her playing days at Cal State Fullerton.

Abelman was the setter for the Titans and she racked up 1,126 assists in 61 matches (6.70 per set). Playing for head coach, Ashley Preston for her three seasons in Fullerton, Abelman became the 13th student-athlete in program history to crest the 1,000-assist mark. 

Other career highlights for the Las Vegas native included an 88-assist performance over 10 sets in two matches at the UCR Classic. Abelman was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Upon graduating, Abelman finished her Master's in Management at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Abelman was First Team All-Conference and First Team Academic All-State at Durango High School. She also earned Female Athlete of the Year honors and earned Nevada MaxPreps Player of the Week.
