After three years between the indoor and beach volleyball team as a student-athlete, Rita Zecchin was hired as a graduate assistant for the indoor volleyball program in the summer of 2024.

Zecchin, a native of Padova, Italy, has been on the Lakefront since 2021. In that span, she made the transition to become a libero/defensive specialist during her last two years. Zecchin finished with 656 career digs. 304 of those came during the 2022 season where she played in 106 sets.
 
During her career, Zecchin was named Libero of the Tournament at the 2022 New Orleans Invitational. She also played for the beach volleyball team for the last two years. Zecchin is working towards her Master’s in Business Administration and is carrying a 3.286 cumulative GPA at New Orleans.
