University of New Orleans men’s tennis player Ricardo Campos played four matches against ranked opponents this week.

Campos emerged from the matches with a pair of wins alongside teammate Hossam Meligy in doubles' play. The transfer from BYU teammed with Meligy for 9-7 win over the No. 8 duo of Matt Nicholson-Lewis and Victor Lozier from Saint Leo's to start the team’s tour of Florida.

A little more than 24 hours later, Campos took to the court again with Meligy for an 8-6 victory over the No. 14 pair of Marco Mokrzycki and Leo Vivas from Barry.

In singles' action, Meligy fell in straight sets to the No. 11 ranked Mokrzycki from Barry, but was one game away from going to a third set with No. 42 ranked Aloua Adjenak of Saint Leo when play was suspended.  Campos rallied from a 3-6 deficit in the first set to lead 5-1 in the second set.

Meligy and Campos are now 10-2 during the dual season in doubles’ play with their lone losses coming to teams from LSU and NAIA No. 1 ranked Auburn-Montgomery.
