Volleyball Falls to UALR 3-0

NEW ORLEANS - The University of New Orleans volleyball team fell to UALR 3-0 (30-26, 30-22, 30-19) on Friday night.

UNO (15-14, 9-7 SBC) was led by Lindsey Boler and Kaley Hubbard, who had 14 and 10 kills, respectively.

Setter Jaci Bayley tallied 33 assists, to move 16 away from reaching 3000 career assists. Defensively, UNO recieved double-digit digs from libero Nicky Valenti who totaled 16.

UALR (20-8, 12-4 SBC) was led by Amile Barakovic who had 14 kills and Ivanka Davidova who added 12.

Lenka Melicharkova had a match-high 44 assists for the Trojans while Amy Hafner and Barakovic each reached double-digit digs with 11 and 10, respectively.

UNO had several leads throughout the first game, but it was UALR who scored nine of the last 12 points to take the opening game. Hubbard hit .833 in the frame with five kills on just six attacks.

In the second game, the Privateers and Trojans traded leads five times until 17-17, when UALR went on to close the game scoring 13 of the final 17 points contested.

After the break, the Trojans came out hitting strong to the tune of .417 in the final frame as the UALR offense was too much for UNO to handle, with the Trojans closing out the match.

The Privateers hit the road for Monroe, La. where they will play the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Friday at 7 p.m.
