LITTLE ROCK, Ark - The University
of New Orleans concluded its two match swing
through Arkansas
falling to UALR 3-0 (30-24, 30-25, 30-24) on Sunday afternoon.
UALR (12-5, 4-1 Sun Belt) received 13 kills from Amila
Barakovic and 10 from Anita Bucur. Lenka Melicharkova had 36 assists to pace
the Trojans offense.
UNO (7-10, 1-3 Sun Belt) was led by Lindsey Boler and
Dobrilla Kovacevic who had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Cassidy Asebroek had 20 assists for the Privateers as Jaci
Bayley added 18. Libero Nicky Valenti led the UNO defensive efforts with a
match-high 16 digs.
Leading 2-0, UALR came out of the break in the third game,
scoring seven of the first nine points and never looked back to close out the
match.
The Trojans controlled the net in the second game with seven
blocks as the Privateers were held to a .071 hitting percentage.
UALR started the match strong opening up a seven-point lead
late in the first game at 20-13 while hitting .265 to win the opening frame.
The Privateers continues Sun Belt play with a 7 p.m match on
Tuesday against Sun Belt West Division rival Louisiana
- Lafayette at the Human
Performance Center.
