Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. - The University of New Orleans ended Webber International's three-game home winning streak on Friday night with a 77-58 victory.
UNO improved to 5-3 with the win against WIU (4-4), the school's first NAIA foe on the 2010-11 schedule.
Antonio Wertz led the Privateers with 21 points in the victory, shooting 9 of 12 from the field and 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. Ryan Kinsley was second on the squad in scoring with 16 points, including three shots from beyond the arc.
Jaroslav Tyrna and Zach Kinsley rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points apiece.
The Privateers led 38-18 as the first half winded down, before WIU scored 7 of 8 points prior to the intermission to get within 14 at 39-25. UNO bounced back after the break by going on an 18-4 run to put the game out of question.
The biggest lead for the Privateers in the game was 28 points in the second half as the visitors shot 51.8 percent from the field and 9 of 23 from beyond the arc.
Gabriel Rutledge and Taula Koloamatangi had 12 points apiece for the Warriors.
The Privateers will conclude their two-game swing of Florida in the Glen Karnes Memorial Basketball game at 6 p.m. (Central) on Saturday night against Southeastern (Fla.). The game held annually be SEU in honor of former Fire assistant Glen Karnes, who passed away from a massive heart attack on Oct. 20, 2005.
