SELMA, Ala. – The University of New Orleans men's basketball team won its fifth in a row, defeating Concordia-Selma 93-86 at Thompson Hall on Friday night.

Antonio Wertz bounced back from a career-low two points on Tuesday to lead UNO (8-4) with a game-high 22 points.

Lovell Cook and Max Banchy added 18 and 12 points, respectively for a Privateer squad that was playing its first game outside the New Orleans city limits since Nov. 12.

Travis Rasco was the top scorer for CC (5-10) with 24 points while Danny Pickens added 20, including 16 in the second half as the Hornets rallied from a 49-31 deficit to get within a handful of points of the Privateers.

“It was a good win for us to get on the road and pick up a win in a tough environment to play,” said UNO head coach Mark Slessinger. “I am glad that we could hold on and execute in the final three minutes to get the win.”

“Our guys are excited to get a win on the road and are now looking forward to come home to play a really good North Alabama team on Sunday to close out the first half of the season before Christmas.”

Sunday's contest at Lakefront Arena against future GSC rival UNA will tip off at 2:30 p.m. on WGSO 990 AM and UNOPrivateers.com. The game is the backend of a doubleheader with the Lady Privateers, who will play at 12 p.m.
