PENSACOLA, Fla. - University of New Orleans senior guard Brandon Knight will get the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when the Privateers visit West Florida.

The contest will be broadcast on GoArgos.com with live stats also available at the same site.

UNO (13-9) has won four of its last five games and has thrived offensively behind Knight, who prepped at Pensacola's Booker T. Washington High School before playing two years at Pensacola JC.

One of the nation's top guards when it comes to distributing the basketball, Knight would rank in the top five in either NCAA Division I or Division II in assist to turnover ratio.

The guard enters the week with 3.31 assists for every turnover and has 21 assists to just one turnover over the course of the last four games.

The rest of the Privateer roster has joined in with Knight in putting together a solid assist to turnover number.  The team has put together four straight contests with at least 20 assists, including a 21 assist performance in a win last Thursday against Southern-New Orleans, in which the team had just eight turnovers.

The passing as of late has led UNO to back-to-back games of shooting 50 percent or more from the field.

Lovell Cook is averaging 15.6 points and 7.6 rebounds during the last seven games. The recent returns include a career-high 22 points against Delta State last Monday and have bolstered the junior's season averages to 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds a game.

The UWF (12-7) program that stands in the Privateers' way on Tuesday is 9-4 at home and most recently snapped a two-game skid with an 82-64 win over West Alabama on Sunday.

The Argos are coached by former UNO assistant Bob Stinnett, who was a member of the 1987-88 coaching staff headed by Art Tolis that went 23-7 with an invitation to the NIT.

Stinnett looks to Jamar Moore and Marquis Mathis to drive his offense. Moore is the top player on the UWF roster in points (16.7) and rebounds (8.4) while Mathis is right behind in both categories at 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds.

The Privateers are 3-0 all-time against the Argos, including a 104-86 victory in Pensacola, Fla. on Dec. 8, 1969 that served as the first in school history.

Following Tuesday's contest, UNO will take off for eight days before resuming play on Feb. 1 at The Barn against Xavier (La.). Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
