THIBODAUX, La. – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team fell victim to in-state and conference foe Nicholls State on Thursday night in Stopher Gym, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-21).
New Orleans (2-15, 0-5) stayed in contention in all sets, but found themselves on the losing end of all three sets to Nicholls (4-12, 1-5).
Leading the Privateers in the defeat was
Celeste Ramirez with 19 assists, 8 digs, and one block assist.
Marti Richmiller led the team in kills with eight, followed by
Alyssa Podwell with seven.
Lauren Levy also contributed a team-high nine digs.
The Colonels were led by Kayla Burling with 14 kills and 9 digs, and Marlee Bean and Alyse Barclay contribute 19 and 18 assists, respectively.
New Orleans continues its in-state conference tour with a trip to McNeese State on Saturday. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
