CONWAY, Ark. – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team went up against the first place Central Arkansas Sugar Bears on Thursday night, and it was the Sugar Bears gaining the 3-0 victory.
The Privateers (3-27, 0-17) came close to extending the match to a fourth set, but lost 25-23 in the third and decisive set for Central Arkansas (25-3, 17-0) to remain unbeaten in Southland play. The first two sets also went in favor of Central Arkansas, 25-7 and 25-14.
Leading New Orleans in the match was
Marti Richmiller with 6 kills to go along with 4 digs, while
Kelsea Hundtoft followed with 5 kills of her own.
Celeste Ramirez led the Privateers in assists with 15 and in digs with 9.
The Sugar Bears were led by Heather Schnars with 11 kills and four digs, while Marissa Collins led the squad with 22 assists. As a team, Central Arkansas had an attack percentage of 28.3 percent.
The Privateers will close out the season at Oral Roberts on Saturday. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
