Northwestern State defeats Privateers on Saturday

NATCHITOCHES – The New Orleans Privateers were unable to come away with a victory at in-state rival Northwestern State, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-17) on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Privateers (2-12, 0-2) were led by Kelsea Hundtoft with 9 kills, followed by Marti Richmiller with 7.  Newcomer Celeste Ramirez also contributed 17 assists in the defeat.
 
The Demons (5-8, 1-1) received a strong effort from setter Emily Johnson with 42 assists in the win, while Cati O'Connell and Glynna Johnson each chipped in 11 kills each.
 
New Orleans will return to the Human Performance Center this Thursday to face Oral Roberts for the team's first home Southland Conference match of the 2013 season.  First serve is set for 7 p.m.
