FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – The New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team (3-6) were held to 16 first half points in a 73-41 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks (5-8) on Wednesday evening at the Bud Walton Arena.

The Privateers traded baskets with the Razorbacks into the first quarter media timeout, grabbing a brief 7-6 lead early. However, Arkansas took control of the glass as Melissa Wolff led the way with 12 points and nine rebounds to give the Razorbacks at 20-9 lead after the first quarter. Arkansas out-rebounded the Privateers 20-5 in the opening stanza.

New Orleans was held scoreless through the first five minutes of the second quarter against Arkansas' defense before
Danielle Davis earned a pair of free throw trips with 4:46 left. Davis made all six of her free throw attempts, but the Privateers trailed 39-16 heading into the locker room. The Privateers held Arkansas completely off the charity stripe in the first half.

At the beginning of the second half, the Privateers started out by hitting four of their first 10 shots. After the media timeout in the third quarter, the Razorbacks held New Orleans to one make in their last seven shots of the penultimate stanza. Arkansas also earned their first nine trips from the free throw line in the third.

The Privateers had a solid fourth quarter defensively, holding the Razorbacks to just 4-of-11 from the field. New Orleans also forced 18 Arkansas turnovers in the final stanza and had a stretch offensively where they hit 5-of-7 shots.

Randi Brown led the Privateers with 19 points. Davis finished with six points and
Yasmin Taylor added four points along with two steals.
Danielle Wright,
Raven Coleman, and
Shania Woods co-led the team in rebounds with four each.

Wolff finished with 20 points and 20 rebounds, setting career highs in both columns. Jessica Jackson overcame a slow start to finish with 14 points on 6-of-12 from the field. Devin Cosper added 11 points, going 7-of-8 from the line.

The Privateers will start Southland play in their next outing against Lamar on Jan. 4. Tip is scheduled for 5 p.m.
