NEW ORLEANS – Cody Ducote hit his team leading fifth home run in the University of New Orleans' (9-15, 2-7 Southland) 5-3 loss to Central Arkansas (15-9, 7-2 Southland) Sunday afternoon at Maestri Field.
Ducote finished 2-4 with a solo shot and a triple and drove in two.
Jay Robinson and
Beau Bratton tallied a hit.
Bears starter Cody Davenport went the distance for his second win of the season striking out seven. UNO starter
Kyle Arjona (2-2) was tagged with loss after 5.0 innings of work, giving up five runs (three earned) and five punchouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Central Arkansas opened the scoring with a three spot in fourth. UNO got a run back in the bottom of the fourth on
Owen Magee's sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 UCA.
The Bears extended their lead to five on Somdecerff's second home run of the weekend.
Ducote tried to play hero, bringing UNO to within three with his bomb in the eight and hit an RBI triple in the ninth but Central Arkansas took the series finale 5-3.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Privateers will travel to Mobile, Alabama to face nationally-ranked South Alabama Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
