NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans (6-8, 0-1 Southland) opened up its 2018 Southland Conference schedule with a 7-6 extra innings loss Southeastern Louisiana (10-6, 1-0 Southland) Friday evening at Alumni Field.
Beau Bratton finished 3 for 6 at the plate with 2 ribbies.
Darren Willis,
Collin Morrill,
Cody Ducote,
John Thomas Mauldin, and
Pearce Howard tallied two hits apiece. Magee also drove in a pair of runs.
Peyton Lee got his first win of the season after tossing 3.2 innings of three hit no run ball with six strikeouts.
John Barr (1-2) was tagged with the loss after going 4.2 innings giving up two unearned runs and struck out eight.
Bryan Warzek did not factor into the decision going 5.0 innings and striking out 7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions opened up the scoring in the first after scoring an unearned run for a 1-0 lead.
The lead did not last long as the Privateers put up a crooked number in the third. Willis and Morrill led off the inning with a pair of singles, Willis later scored on a RBI ground out by Magee. Bratton and Ducote hit back to back triples to score Morrill and Bratton, respectively. UNO added one more by a Howard single for a 4-1 lead.
Southeastern took a 5-4 lead after scoring a run in the third and three in the fifth.
The Blue and Silver did not waste any time taking back the lead in the sixth with a pair of unearned runs for a 6-5 lead.
Southeastern Louisiana tied the game at 6 in the ninth on a steal of third base and throwing error and later won the game on a wild pitch for the 7-6 victory.

The Privateers will continue their series with Southeastern tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
