Beaumont, Texas – The win streak will end at five games as the University of New Orleans (14-16, 5-8 Southland) dropped game one to Lamar University (7-23, 3-10 Southland) 5-1 Friday evening at Vincent-Beck Stadium.
 
Cardinal starter Tanner Driskill (2-3) earned the win going 7.1 innings giving up one run on three hits, and struck out four. UNO lefty 
Bryan Warzek (2-1) was hit with the loss after 4.0 innings of work allowing three runs on five hits with five strikeouts.
 
Jay Robinson, 
Devin Morrill, and 
Beau Bratton each tallied a hit in the setback.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinals scored three run in the first inning and two more in the fifth for a 5-0 lead.
 
The Privateers got on the board in the eighth as Morrill got on with a one out single and moved to second on a wild pitch. He came around to score on a Robinson single down the right field line. But Lamar took game one 5-1.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Privateers will look back to get on track as they continue their series with Lamar at 2 p.m Saturday.
