NEW ORLEANS
– The New Orleans Privateers were resilient after facing an early deficit but fell 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 25-20) to the Tulane Green Wave (6-2) on Tuesday at the Human Performance Center.

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Brianna Vega reached double figures in kills with 10. Sh'Diamond Holly and Shelby Pullins each added nine kills. Pullins was also in on six of the team's 11 blocks. Ehize Omoghibo finished with eight kills. Lucie Pokorna had 39 assists and posted 13 digs. Andrea Nava led the team in digs with 14.

FIRST SET
After the first six rallies of the match were split evenly, Tulane went on a 5-1 run to build up an early four-point lead. The lead got up to six, but New Orleans rallied to narrow the gap to 15-13. Four different Privateers recorded kills in that stretch. However, Tulane kicked away again after they scored the next six points.

SECOND SET
Tulane scored five of the first seven points to open a set where their attack percentage stood at .400. The Green Wave never trailed in the set and their largest lead was the finishing margin of the set. The Privateers offense hit .367 for the set.

THIRD SET
New Orleans rattled off the first five points in a spirited start out of the halftime locker room. After a timeout by Tulane, the road side regrouped and went on an 8-2 run on their own to take their first advantage of the set. New Orleans fired right back though and ended the set with a flourish. A Nava service ace tucked in the back corner extended the match to a fourth set.

FOURTH SET
The Privateers had an 11-8 lead at the outset. However, Tulane surged in front after they scored six of the next seven rallies in their favor. The Privateers tried to rally but were turned back by Tulane. Lauryn Green, who led the Green Wave in kills, provided her 13th and final to finish the match. Lexie Douglas added 11 kills.

NEXT UP
The Privateers will host their second invitational starting on Friday a 11 a.m. New Orleans will welcome Tennessee State, Mercer, and Southern.
