HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rehema Franklin was once again a force all over the court as she finished with a game-high 21 points to go along with two assists and a steal. She caused an almost unheard of 10 fouls against in the contest and took advantage with a 6-of-7 clip from the charity stripe. It is the tenth game overall that the senior guard had led the team in points to go with being the fourth straight contest in which she accomplished the feat. It is the New Orleans native's 11th double-digit scoring output of the year to go with her sixth 20-plus point game.
- Asia Woods was her usual solid self in the paint as the senior recorded 11 points, nine rebounds and a steal.
- Her counterpart was just as effective on both ends as forward Whitley Larry added four points, 10 boards and four blocks.
- Dionjhae Thomas provided a spark with her second and third three-pointer of the season as the junior chipped in 11 points and two assists.
- Vaquela Pimpton rounded out the scoring attack with 12 points and a career-high six rebounds.
- Northwestern State brought it to New Orleans off the tip and were able to hold a 23-20 lead after the first.
- It was all Privateers from that point on as the group held the Lady Demons to just six points in the second while scoring 18 of their own to take a 38-29 lead into the half.
- It was more of the same in the third as New Orleans won the quarter by a 22-16 edge to take a commanding 60-45 edge into the final frame.
- The Privateers looked to take the air out of the ball and the Lady Demons fought a second win in the final quarter. Even with a 18-17 edge, it was too little too late for Northwestern as New Orleans cruised to their second straight victory.
- New Orleans finished with 34 points in the paint and forced Northwestern State into 29 turnovers. The Privateers also had 30 points off the bench in the victory.
