HOW IT HAPPENED
The Privateers got out of tough spots in the first two innings as Holstein pitched around a leadoff double in the first and a two on-one out spots in the second. Grambling eventually struck first in the third frame on a two-out RBI single from Jerry Almaguer.
The Tigers capitalized on one of three Privateer errors when Jahmoi Percival stole third and scored on an ensuing throwing error to stretch the lead to 2-0.
Jacob Lamkin was the first call out of the pen and nearly got out of a bases loaded jam unscathed. He had two strikes on Percival, but Grambling's leadoff hitter eventually got to a 3-2 pitch and tripled into the gap to score three.
LaBorde's home run was a mammoth shot to left that put the Privateers on the scoreboard in the eighth inning. Delgado struck out 11 Privateers on the night. JC Bonilla came on to record the final four outs of the inning.
