Four Reach Double Figures in Final Road Game

NATCHITOCHES, La. – Troy Green posted 21 points, 10 from the free throw line, but the short-handed Privateers fell to Northwestern State 95-73 Wednesday evening at Prather Coliseum. Green added seven rebounds and seven assists.
 
A combined 80 free throws were attempted in tonight's contest. Bryson Robinson added 12 points to extend his double figures streak to 31 dating back to last season, Jahmel Myers posted 11 points and eight rebounds and Jaylen Key recorded 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Privateers looked unselfish early with an alley-oop and back-to-back cuts to the basket for layups. Robinson found Myers, Berzat connected with Key and Green hit Myers for two.
  • Free throws were the story in the first half with the Privateers attempting three and NSU going 18-of-21 to take a 51-31 lead into the second half.
  • New Orleans and the Demons went to the line a combined 56 times in the second half with UNO going 21-of-34 from the stripe.
  • The Demons attempted 43 free throws in total, draining 34.
 
OPPOSITION
  • Northwestern State shot 85.7 percent from the line in the first with 18 made free throws.
  • The Demon bench outscored the Privateers 21-to-11 in the first half.
 
NOTEWORTHY
  • Robinson's triple with 7:16 remaining in the first tied James Parlow for most three-pointers in a single season (85).
  • It was Green's sixth 20-point game of the season.
  • Eight student-athletes appeared in the game for the Privateers.
