NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The New Orleans women's basketball program could never really get things going as the Privateers dropped their Southland conference opening game 88-29 to host Stephen F. Austin at the William R. Johnson Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Stephen F. Austin started the game hot and got out to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter.
- The trend continued into the second as the Lady 'Jacks expanded their lead to 52-11 as the two teams hit the half.
- SFA won the second half as well (by a 36-18 margin) to capture the 88-29 win.
GAME NOTES
	- Jada Duncantell finished with a team-high eight points to go with a steal and three rebounds.
- Dionjhae Thomas chipped in six points, three boards and two steals.
- Seven different Privateers found the scoring sheet in points.
- Kyla Davis, who celebrated her birthday today, notched a rebound and a steal.
- The 29 points scored by New Orleans was tied for the third-lowest point total recorded in a single-game in school history.
FOR THE FOES
	- Alyssa Mayfield finished with a game-high 15 points to go with five rebounds.
- Avery Brittingham just missed out on a double-double with nine points and 14 boards. She also added three steals.
- SFA has 12 student-athletes record at last two points in the victory.
NEXT UP
The Privateers return to the Lakefront for another Southland showdown, this time with Central Arkansas, on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Tipoff is set for 7 PM CT at the UNO Lakefront Arena. New Orleans enters the game with a perfect mark of 3-0 when it plays in the Big Easy.
