NEW ORLEANS – Tara Goolsby had a career night in Natchitoches, but the Privateers fell 3-1 to Northwestern State on Thursday evening at Prather Coliseum.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UNO got off to a hot start on the road taking the first set 25-23.
Trinity Jackson led the way for the Privateers in the opening frame with six kills including the set winning point. In set two Northwestern State pulled even in extra rallies, 27-25. The third set was tied 10-10 before a 9-1 run by Northwestern State forced a New Orleans timeout.
UNO kept fighting, forcing three straight attack errors towards the end of the set cutting the deficit to 24-20. A kill by Addison McDermott ended the Privateer rally and closed the third set in favor of the home team. The Demons controlled the fourth set from start to finish 25-10, hitting .455 in the final frame.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Goolsby had a career-high 34 assists with 13 digs. Jackson had 14 kills, while
Sh'Diamond Holly finished with 10 after hitting .391.
Maxine Walsh had five blocks, and
Sheilah Purcell led the team with 23 digs.
