CONWAY, Ark. – The New Orleans Privateers (2-6, 2-4) were dealt a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-12) defeat by the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears on Saturday at the Prince Center.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Hannah Volpi recorded a double-double with a team high in digs (15) and assists (13) while filling in for
Lucie Pokorna who was injured during the Stephen F. Austin match.
Kolbi Reed finished with eight assists.
Sheilah Purcell landed in double figures in digs with 10.
Alexis Parrish finished with eight kills to lead the offense.
Rani Williams and
Chloe Hampton followed with six kills each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Privateers got out to a quick 4-1 lead in the first set but Central Arkansas rallied back to assert control in the middle of the set.
Central Arkansas got out to a 4-0 start in the second set and a 5-0 run in the third. The Sugar Bears hit .429 (10 kills, one error, 21 attempts) in the final set.
Charlie Tidwell led the Sugar Bears offense with eight kills. Amari Mitchell and Lexi Miller had six kills apiece.
