FRISCO, Texas – New Orleans redshirt junior
Damion Rosser was named Second Team All-Southland Conference Monday. The McDonough, Georgia native ranks in the top 10 in the league in field goal percentage, rebounding, assists and double-doubles.
Rosser appeared in all 23 games in 2020-21, averaging 15.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists. In league play,
TDR posted averages of 16.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
He reached double figures in 21 games, including 15 consecutive contests. With six 20-plus point games this season, Rosser pulled down five or more rebounds 20 times, registering five double-doubles on the year. He dished out five assists on three occasions, and swatted away four shots in a win at UIW (March 1).
Rosser also appeared on Sports Center's Top 10 Plays, coming in at No. 3 after a windmill dunk during the BSN Dolphin Classic (December 11).
Coming back from a season-ending injury, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President shot 51.5 percent from the field this year.
TOURNEY TIME
The Privateers are locked into the five seed for the Southland Tournament and will have a first round bye. They will face the winner of McNeese and Southeastern in the second round on Wednesday at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
