NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans junior guard
Damion Rosser was named third-team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sportswriter's Association on Tuesday afternoon.
Â
The second-team All-Southland selection averaged 15.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game - all top marks for the 2020-2021 Privateer squad.
Dame finished the season with five double-doubles to tie for the third-most in the Southland and managed seven games of 20-plus points.
The Georgia native finished the season scoring in double-figures 22 times out of his 25 appearances last season.
Rosser finished second in the league in rebounding and pulled down 10 or more boards five times, including 12 at UIW on March 1.
Damion also ranked in the top 10 in the Southland in minutes played (second), shooting percentage (fourth), free throw percentage (fifth) and scoring (sixth).
He becomes the first All-Louisiana selection for the Privateers since
Bryson Robinson last season, and the fifth under the tenure of Head Coach
Mark Slessinger.
Rosser, who served as SAAC President last year, graduated in May of 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Arts, Film & Theater with
aspirations of playing professional basketball.
HEAD COACH MARK SLESSINGER
"(Rosser) finished the season as one of the top players in our conference and was playing at a very high level. The many tools that he possesses allow him to be multidimensional in his play and positions. We look forward to seeing him fulfill his professional dreams."
