NEW ORLEANS — Baton Rouge native, Dorian Booker has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball next season at The University of New Orleans, head coach
Mark Slessinger announced Friday. Booker will join the Privateers for the 2023-24 season.
Booker (6-11, 265), a two-year starter at Scotlandville, helped the Hornets win two state championships. He was also a huge presence for the New Orleans Elite AAU squad, a team that current Privateer
Jamond Vincent also played on during his prep career.
Booker averaged 18 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, and 5 blocks per game, during the 2021-22 season on the way to a State title. He will be joining a 2023-2024 roster with at least five guys at 6'8 or taller. The center chose New Orleans over Southeastern and Southern University.
COACH'S CORNER: MARK SLESSINGER
"We are excited to add Dorian to our team and look forward to his growth as another talented big man in our program. While his size immediately stands out, he has tremendous hands and a high skill level for a young player of his size. Dorian's personality will make for a great addition to our campus community. He has had a lot of success playing for a prestigious program at Scotlandville under the tutelage of Carlos Sample."
