NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers gained some early momentum through their service game but ultimately the Nicholls Colonels took over the first set on their way to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22) decision on Saturday at the Human Performance Center.
The Privateers raced out to a 5-1 lead behind
Defne Eciroglu and
Dayla Ward's serves that got the Colonels out of system. Nicholls got back on level terms and used a 9-1 run to close out the opening set.
