Loyola got the jump with a 22-16 lead after the first ten minutes of play while they shot 50 percent from the field. The Privateers' defense wreaked havoc in the midst of a 10-0 run to begin the second quarter. Two steals and ensuing fast break layups helped vault the Privateers to a four-point advantage.
