Privateer men's tennis player Ricardo Campos improved to 3-0 in Southland Conference play in both singles’ and doubles’ over the weekend as New Orleans became the first squad to secure a berth in the Southland Conference Tennis Tournament.

A 2012 ITA All-American, Campos teammed with Hossam Meligy for an 8-2 win over Rob Lee and Steven McMullan at the No. 1 court. The win was one of the three doubles' victories for the Privateers to take the doubles' point against Lamar.

In singles' play, Campos bested Carl Phillip Lindqvist 6-1, 7-6 (1) at the No. 2 singles’ position as UNO picked up a 5-2 win over the Cardinals.

Both victories were the second in a row for Campos, who has been singled out following the Privateers' wins against Nicholls State and Lamar for his improved play while handling the No. 2 singles' position.
