Kristina Martic is this week's UNOPrivateers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Martic has battled injuries for much of the season, retiring from three singles' matches during the month of March and dropping four consecutive singles' matches entering this past week's dual against Xavier.

In the dual against XULA, Martic stepped up by sweeping aside Amanda Materre 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 2 position. A member of the Gold Nuggets' nationally-ranked NAIA squad, Materre entered the match ranked No. 39 in NAIA and 4-0 against NCAA Division I foes.

Earlier in the dual, Martic teamed with freshman Soledad Calderon Arroyo for a convincing 8-1 win over Kourtney Howell and Brion Flowers. It was the most lopsided result of the season against the XULA duo, ranked No. 12 in NAIA.
