NEW ORLEANS - Winners of their last two contests, the University of New Orleans men's basketball program will seek a third in a row on Monday night at 7 p.m. as they host Tennessee Temple at Lakefront Arena.

UNO (2-2) head coach Mark Slessinger has stressed that his team put together a great team effort on Saturday night as they rallied from 20 points down in the second half to defeat NAIA Southeastern (Fla.)

The contributions from many different players on the roster shows throughout the stat sheet after four games as five different players have led the Privateers in scoring once through the season's first four games without a single duplicate.

Lovell Cook was the most recent player to top the team in points with a career-high 16 against SEU following efforts by Lenny Harmon, Generra Varmall, Antonio Wertz and Max Banchy since the slate tipped off 10 days ago in New Mexico. At 9.8 points per game, Wertz is the team leader with four others averaging at least seven points per game.

Slessinger's team also possesses solid depth, a factor that proved to be vital in the second half of the last two contests. Leading by seven against Selma and trailing SEU by 14, the Privateers have come out firing away on opponents after the break.

The team outscored the duo by a combined 92-58 while shooting 45.2 percent in comparison to 30.4 by the opposing side. The two opponents turned the ball over an average of 13 times in the second half with UNO claiming an 18-5 advantage in assists and 17-6 edge in steals during the time frame.

Monday's opponent TTU (3-4) will provide another stern test.

The Crusaders roster features nine upperclassmen in a group that comprises of four NCAA Division I transfers, one NCAA Division II transfer and several junior college additions.

A historically proud program, TTU has claimed seven National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) national championships dating back to 1979.

Monday's game will be broadcast live on WGSO 990 AM and WGSO.com with a video simulcast on the UNO Showcase at UNOPrivateers.com.
