Box Score NEW ORLEANS - Four players scored in double figures as the University of New Orleans bounced back into the win column with a 97-55 victory over Concordia-Selma on Thursday night at Lakefront Arena.
Antonio Wertz led UNO (13-5) with 17 points as the Privateers posted their top scoring effort of the season. Max Banchy scored 12 points in the first half on way to a career-high 15 points for the game.
K.C. Ross Miller added 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists with Brandon Knight rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 points.
Jeremy Sturdivant scored 17 points to lead Concordia (4-26) before fouling out with 9:51 remaining in the contest. Zannie Pickens and Gabriel Ball scored 12 and 11 points for the Hornets, respectively.
The visiting Hornets had difficulties finding the basket, missing their first four shots and starting 1 of 13 from the field with the lone made basket coming from Pickens with 18:31 remaining in the opening half.
UNO took advantage of the Concordia struggles to take an 11-2 lead before the Hornets made their way back in the game 16-12. The four point disadvantage for Concordia was the closest they would get through the game's final buzzer.
The Privateers turned back the Hornets with a 9-0 run that featured seven points from Ryan Kinsley. The spurt continued until the break as UNO went on a 39-11 run to enter the half with a 55-23 advantage.
Privateers head coach Joe Pasternack was able to empty his bench in the second half, that saw a more balanced contest with the Privateers favoring a 42-32 difference over the visitors.
Junior forward Reginald Franklin was the star of the last 20 minutes for UNO, scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds in just 11 minutes of play in the second half.
The Privateers will continue their homestand on Monday against St. Thomas (Texas) at 7 p.m. before facing Birmingham Southern next Thursday at 7 p.m.
