NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans cruised to its fourth straight home victory, knocking off Champion Baptist 94-54 on Saturday afternoon.
All 14 players that saw time on the floor scored for UNO (6-13).
Kevin Hill notched his second career double-double to lead a group of five different players to reach double-figures for the Privateers. Hill scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the contest.
Hill made all six of his shot attempts as the Privateers connected on season-high 62.9 percent from the field in the contest, eclipsing the previous best of 55.6 percent accomplished in a win against Nicholls State on Dec. 12. Hill was joined in perfection by
Cory Dixon, who made all five of his shots en route to 13 points for the game.
UNO led wire-to-wire in the game, scoring the first six points. The Privateers' advantage moved into double-figures for the first time on a
Max Banchy three-pointer at the 13:08 mark, providing the hosts a 16-4 lead.
With UNO leading 27-11 following a jumper by CBC (5-22) forward Brandon Likins at the 9:25 mark, the Privateer defense clamped down. The visiting Tigers made just one field goal the remainder of the half as UNO headed into the intermission with a 50-21 lead.
In the second half, UNO improved upon its shooting from the field, hitting 18 of 26 shots for a 69.2 percent clip. The Privateers outscored CBC 44-33 over the final 20 minutes.
Other double-figure scorers for UNO included
Isaac Mack with 12 points while the pair of
Lovell Cook and
Evans Ganapamo scored 10 points apiece.
Eddie Denard's 10 rebounds established a career-high for the junior forward.
CBC was led by Likins, who scored 31 points on 12 of 30 shooting. The Tigers made just 2 of 24 attempts from beyond the arc for an 8.3 percent clip while making just 29.5 percent of their shots from the field.
The Privateers' four-game homestand continues on Wednesday, Feb. 6 against Texas-Pan American. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the contest designated as UNO's Homecoming contest.

Rarlensee Nelson had 10 assists in the contest, his fifth time in double-digits this year in the category. Nelson is just two shy Jordan Crump's school-record of seven games in double-figure assists set in 1974-75. Nelson's six career games with double-digit assists is also two shy of a Crump mark. Crump had eight career games with 10 or more assists.

UNO's four-game home winning streak is the team's longest streak at home since the program won seven in a row from Jan. 7, 2012 through Nov. 9, 2012. The streak included six victories in a row at home to conclude the 2011-12 campaign. Under head coach Mark Slessinger, the Privateers are now 19-5 at home.

The victory improved UNO to 5-0 all-time against CBC in a series that backs to Nov. 2010. The Privateers have won four contests in New Orleans along with a single win at the Tigers' home gym in Hot Springs, Ark.

Saturday's contest was Evans Ganapamo's third start of the season. The freshman from Mandeville, La. previously started games on Dec. 10 at Duquesne and in the previous meeting against CBC on Jan. 12.
