NEW ORLEANS, La. - The New Orleans Privateers men's and women's basketball teams will host a doubleheader against Champion Baptist and Louisiana-Lafayette respectively with the men tipping at 2 p.m.

Mark Slessinger's Privateers (1-4) return home for the first time in 21 calendar days after road trips to LSU, Hawaii and Minnesota. UNO is looking to snap a four-game skid against a Champion Baptist squad that the Privateers have beaten five times in the last three seasons.
Cory Dixon leads the Privateers in points per game (16.4) and rebounds per game (7.2).
Other strong performers for the Privateers include guard,
Isaac Mack who has scored in double figures in three straight including 10 points on a 5-7 effort from the field at Minnesota.
Matt Derenbecker is second on the team in scoring, and hit three triples as part of a 14-point effort against Minnesota.
Champion Baptist is led by Josiah Capaci who scored 15 points in a loss against Southeastern. This will be the third Division I school the Tigers have played this season. The Tigers also suffered a 108-48 loss to Mississippi Valley State on Nov 15.
In the back end of the doubleheader, the New Orleans Privateers women's basketball team (0-7) takes on Sun Belt foe, Louisiana-Lafayette (4-4).
Keeshawn Davenport's Privateers are coming off losses on a recent road swing at Jackson State and Murray State.
Melissa Jensen recorded her first double-double against Murray State by putting up 13 points and hauling in 10 rebounds. Freshman
Jewel Angelo also impressed with a career-high 12 points against Jackson State.
The Cajuns are led by Keke Veal, who is averaging 12.2 points per game and achieved double figures in each of the first five games this season. Through eight games, the Cajuns have been out-scored cumulatively by just five points (528-523) despite only three of their contests being decided by single digits.
The men's game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip while the women follow with a start time scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
