THE GAME:

The New Orleans men's basketball team looks for win number two in a row this Saturday, December 13, as the Privateers sail to the west coast, taking on San Diego at 9:30 p.m. CT in Jenny Craig Pavilion.
 
Head coach Mark Slessinger's squad is coming off of one of its most impressive wins to date, defeating Crowley's Ridge College 100-85 one week ago to improve to 2-3 on the season.
 
San Diego arrives back home after six straight on the road, holding a .500 record at 5-5.

San Diego arrives back at the Jenny Craig Pavilion after playing in six straight away from the team's home floor. The Toreros went 4-2 over the stretch of games. Individually USD is led by Johnny Dee, who comes into Saturday night's contest as one of the post prolific scorers in the nation, putting in 20.8 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT:
The New Orleans men's basketball team rallied behind a strong offensive team performance on Saturday night, propelling the Privateers to a 100-85 win over Crowley's Ridge College in the Lakefront Arena. New Orleans remains undefeated on its home floor after the victory, improving its record to 2-3 on the year while scoring 100 points for the first time since the 2013 season.
 
NEXT UP:
The Privateers remain on the road for two more following the game at San Diego, taking on Southern Illinois on Dec. 19 before making their way to Indiana on Dec. 22.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Weisbrod Tops in the Nation

Colton Weisbrod now leads the nation in terms of field goal percentage, shooting at a 74.4 percent clip. The freshman has hit on 29 of his 39 attempts from the floor.
 
Gill Leading the Way
After last week's win over Crowley's Ridge, sophomore Christavious Gill took over the team lead in scoring with a 13.6 points per game mark. Gill  put in 18 points for New Orleans during the win.
 
Privateers Shooting Well
Head coach Mark Slessinger's team has quickly become one of the top shooting teams in the Southland Conference, ranking top three in the league in both field goal percentage (.476) and three-point field goal percentage (.367).
 
Clean Brand of Basketball
Ball control has also been a theme for the Privateers early on, committing the 17th fewest fouls in the nation at 105 total and the 22nd fewest turnovers at 78.
 
Offensive Production
Now putting in 77 points per game, New Orleans comes in at No. 50 in the country in offensive production.
 
Thibodeaux on the Block
Travin Thibodeaux has been a force in the paint, leading the team in blocks with his seven. Thibodeaux has had at least one block in each of the team's first five games.
 
Gill's Streak
Christavious Gill has put together an impressive offensive run of New Orleans, scoring in double-figures in seven consecutive games for the Privateers dating back to last season.
 
Slessinger Closing in on Win 50
Fourth year head coach Mark Slessinger is closing in on win number 50 during his coaching tenure, sitting at 38 after picking up his latest against Crowley's Ridge.
