The New Orleans men's basketball team looks to make it two wins in a row as the Privateers head to Bloomington, Ind. for a Monday night clash with the Hoosiers.
 
New Orleans sits at 3-4 after the big road win over Southern Illinois while Indiana sits at 9-2 with its latest victory coming over top 25 foe Butler.

INDIANA    
The Hoosiers of the Big 10 Conference are holding steady early on in the season, holding a 9-2 record. Indiana, under seventh year head coach Tom Crean, has a pair of wins over top 25 teams in SMU and Butler, which came during the team's last outing this past Friday.

LAST TIME OUT:
With a steal and a three-pointer from sophomore Nate Frye, the New Orleans men's basketball team overcame an 11-point second-half gap to take a 56-52 road win over Southern Illinois in thrilling fashion on Friday night.  Kevin Hill led the way with his eight points and eight rebounds during the win.
 
NEXT UP:
The Privateers return home to the Lakefront Arena on Dec. 30 as New Orleans plays host to Central Baptist before kicking off Southland Conference play against Lamar.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Weisbrod Tops in the Nation
Colton Weisbrod leads the nation in terms of field goal percentage for the second straight week, shooting at a 72 percent clip. The freshman has hit on 36 of his 50 attempts from the floor.


Getting to the Line
The Privateers have gotten to the foul line often this season, taking 200 free throws. New Orleans took a 2014-15 Southland Conference high of 48 attempts during a season-opening win against Pensacola Christian College and was a perfect 14-of-14 during the team's win at Southern Illinois.
 
Homecoming for Slessinger
Head coach Mark Slessinger will be making the homecoming trip at Indiana. The Bloomington, Ind., native will lead the Privateers in their first ever trip to Assembly hall.
 
Privateers on the Boards
On average, the Privateers are pulling down exactly one more rebound per game than their opponents, making New Orleans one of just four SLC schools to do so. 

Gill Leading the Way
Sophomore Christavious Gill leads the Privateers in scoring with his 12.3 points per game, one of four New Orleans players to average double figures.
 
Privateers Shooting Well
Head coach Mark Slessinger's team has quickly become one of the top shooting teams in the Southland Conference, ranking top five in the league in both field goal percentage (.469) and three-point field goal percentage (.341).
 
Clean Brand of Basketball
Ball control has also been a theme for the Privateers early on, committing the 15th fewest fouls in the nation at 135 total and the 24th fewest turnovers at 111.
 
First Half vs. USD
In the team's last outing at San Diego, New Orleans put together its best 20-minute shooting performance of the season, going 65-percent from the field in the first half, going 13-of-20 from the field.

Fourth year head coach Mark Slessinger is closing in on win number 50 during his coaching tenure, sitting at 38 after picking up his latest against at Southern Illinois.
