THE GAME:

The New Orleans men's basketball team returns home after three straight road contests to host Central Baptist on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 7:45 p.m. CT in the Lakefront Arena.
 
The Privateers return to the friendly confines with a 3-5 overall record and look to take down the Mustangs who sit at 4-5.

CENTRAL BAPTIST  
Central Baptist along with second-year head coach Wes Sullivan arrive holding a 4-5 overall record, just one-win shy of last year's total of five wins. The Mustangs are currently in the midst of a three-game losing skid and have lost four out of their last five contests.

LAST TIME OUT:
The New Orleans men's basketball team hung tough at Indiana, but couldn't crack the stout Hoosier defense as the Privateers fell 79-59 in front of 13,182 fans in historic Assembly Hall. New Orleans outscored Indiana in the second half, 37-35, and were led by Kevin Hill's 12-point, 11-rebound double-double effort to go with the game's leading scorer in Tevin Broyles who put in 18.

The Privateers remain at home on Monday, Jan. 5 as New Orleans starts off Southland Conference play by hosting Lamar at 7:45 p.m. CT.

Shooting Well

The Privateers have shot the ball well thus far, shooting at a 46-percent success rate from the field, going 194-of-424 from the field, good enough for the third best margin in the Southland Conference.

New Orleans holds an undefeated mark on its home floor, holding a 2-0 mark as the Privateers take on their final non-conference opponent of the season.

Ball control has also been a theme for the Privateers early on, committing the 14th fewest fouls in the nation at 160 total and the 23rd fewest turnovers at 120.

New Orleans has been holding its opponents to limited rebounds, giving up just 249 boards to its opponents, the fewest total in the Southland Conference. On average, the Privateers are pulling down nearly two more rebound per game than their opponents, making New Orleans one of just five SLC schools to do so.

Both Christavious Gill and Colton Weisbrod have now put in 88 points per game to lead the squad in the scoring category. New Orleans now has four players averaging double-figures including Kevin Hill and Kevin Brown to go with Gill and Weisbrod.

Weisbrod currently stands as one of the most proficient shooter in the nation, holding a field goal percentage of .684, connecting on 39-of-57 attempts from the floor to put the freshman at No. 1 in the Southland Conference in that category.
 
Broyles at the Line
With 8-of-17 makes from the stripe, Tevin Broyles ranks in the top 10 in the league in free-throw percentage with an .810 mark.
 
Gill's Scoring Run
Gill has put together an impressive offensive run of New Orleans, scoring in double-figures in eight out of the last 10 games for the Privateers dating back to last season.
